1. Who we are
Logomentary is a web agency. We build sites, apps, stores, and cloud tools. Under GDPR and similar laws, we are the data controller here. That means we decide how your data is used.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need. That covers the site, your questions, and your project. The data falls into three groups.
Information you provide
- Contact & project questions — name, email, company, phone (optional), project notes, and any files you send us.
- Consultation bookings — your time slot and time zone.
- Client work data — contract details, billing info, and what we need to do your project.
Auto-collected information
- Log data — IP address, browser, OS, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Device data — screen size, rough location, and speed data.
- Cookies & similar tools — see the cookies section below.
Information from third parties
- Analytics providers — pooled traffic and use data.
- Payment processors — payment receipts. We never see full card numbers.
- Public sources — if you write on behalf of a business, we may check public records.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small set of cookies and similar tools.
- Strictly needed — keep the site working and remember your cookie choice.
- Analytics — privacy-friendly tools that track page speed and traffic. Set only with consent where required.
- Functional — extras like built-in media or chat. Loaded on demand.
You can change cookie choices three ways. Use the banner. Edit your browser. Or just email us. The Cookie Policy has the full list.
3. How we use your information
We use data for these tasks:
- To answer questions, quotes, and consult requests.
- To run and support projects we build for you.
- To send service emails: updates, bills, and renew alerts.
- To improve site speed, UX, and content.
- To block fraud, abuse, and break-ins.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting rules.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to train AI models.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
GDPR and UK GDPR list lawful reasons to use data. We rely on these:
- Contract — to do what you hired us for.
- Legitimate interests — to run the site safely, stop fraud, and market our work in light ways.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and promo emails, where the law needs it.
- Legal duty — for tax, accounting, and legal records.
Data retention
We keep data only as long as we need it.
- Enquiry data — up to 24 months after last contact.
- Client project files — for the life of the work, plus 6 years for legal and tax needs.
- Analytics logs — about 14 months in pooled form.
- Billing records — as tax law requires (often 6 to 10 years).
We delete or wipe data when we no longer need it.
4. Sharing & international transfers
We only share data with trusted vendors. They help us run the business. We share the bare minimum. The list:
- Hosting, CDN, and cloud vendors.
- Email, helpdesk, and CRM tools.
- Analytics and error-tracking tools.
- Payment processors and accounting software.
- Lawyers and accountants when truly needed.
Each vendor signs a data deal. They must keep your data safe. We may also share data when the law requires it. Or to enforce a contract. Or to keep people and property safe.
International data transfers
We work with vendors all over the world. So data may cross borders. We use safeguards each time. We rely on legal tools like EU Standard Clauses and formal approval. Your consent also counts. Your data stays safe.
5. Security & your rights
We protect data with strong tools. We use TLS — an encrypted link — in transit. We encrypt backups. We lock down our servers. Staff get only the access they need. We run regular checks. No system is 100% safe. But we treat your data like our own.
Your rights
Your rights depend on where you live. You may be able to:
- See the data we hold on you.
- Ask us to fix wrong or missing data.
- Ask us to delete data, where the law allows.
- Object to or limit some uses.
- Pull consent at any time. Past use stays valid.
- Download your data as a file.
- File a complaint with your local data watchdog.
Email contact@logomentary.com to use any of these rights. We may need to check who you are first.
6. Children's privacy
Our work is not aimed at kids under 16. We do not collect their data on purpose. Did a child send us data? Email us. We will delete it.
7. Updates & contact
We may update this policy now and then. For big changes, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. We may also email you or post a notice. If you keep using our site, you accept the new policy.
