1. Who we are
Logomentary is a full-service web development agency that builds high-performance websites, web applications, e-commerce stores, and cloud infrastructure. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and similar privacy laws, Logomentary is the data controller for personal information collected through this site.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site, respond to enquiries, and deliver projects. This falls into three categories:
Information you provide
- Contact & project enquiries — name, email address, company, phone (optional), project details, and any files or messages you share with us.
- Consultation bookings — scheduling information and preferred time zone.
- Client engagement data — contract details, billing information, and anything needed to deliver your project.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Device & diagnostic data — screen size, rough location (country/region), and performance metrics.
- Cookies & similar technologies — see Cookies & tracking below.
Information from third parties
- Analytics providers — aggregated traffic and behaviour data.
- Payment processors — transaction confirmations (we never see full card numbers).
- Public sources — if you reach out on our behalf of a business, we may verify publicly available information.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries, quotes, and consultation requests.
- To deliver, maintain, and support projects we build for you.
- To send service-related emails (project updates, invoices, renewal notices).
- To improve site performance, UX, and content.
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train AI models.
4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Contract — to deliver services you've requested.
- Legitimate interests — to run the site securely, prevent fraud, and market our own services in measured ways.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing emails, where required.
- Legal obligation — for tax, accounting, and compliance records.
5. Cookies & tracking
We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary — keep the site functional and remember your cookie preferences.
- Analytics — privacy-respecting analytics to measure page performance and traffic sources. Set only with consent where required.
- Functional — optional features such as embedded media or chat, loaded on demand.
You can manage cookies through the consent banner, your browser settings, or by contacting us. For full detail, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Sharing & third parties
We share personal information only with vetted service providers that help us run the business — and only to the extent required. These include:
- Hosting, CDN, and cloud infrastructure providers.
- Email delivery, helpdesk, and CRM platforms.
- Analytics and error-monitoring tools.
- Payment processors and accounting software.
- Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants) when strictly necessary.
All providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-processing terms. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights and safety of people and property.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it:
- Enquiry data — up to 24 months after last contact.
- Client project files — for the life of the engagement plus 6 years for legal and tax purposes.
- Analytics logs — typically 14 months in aggregated form.
- Billing records — as required by applicable tax law (usually 6–10 years).
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures that match the sensitivity of the data we hold — including TLS in transit, encrypted backups, hardened cloud infrastructure, principle-of-least-privilege access, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your data like we'd treat our own.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@logomentary.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act.
10. International data transfers
Logomentary operates globally, and some of our service providers are based outside your country. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or your explicit consent — to keep your information protected.
11. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the site. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the revised policy.
